| Camp
Colton is perfectly situated on the north side
of the San Francisco Peaks outside of Flagstaff,
Arizona. Our
program provides an experiential approach to
education and is an integral part of our
local area. Camp provides students with knowledge and experience, enhancing their appreciation for the unique ecosystem of the San Francisco Peaks, and increasing overall awareness of the environment and conservation. |
|
| The
local area is considered "high
desert" and boasts a diversity of
plant and animal life. At about
7,000 feet above sea level, we are located in the largest ponderosa pine forest in North America. With mountains and trees surrounding the whole
region, it is truly a beautiful location! |

Flagstaff gets a touch of all four seasons which means perfect spring and summer weather, leaves changing in the fall, and just enough snow to experience
a true winter. Flagstaff has skiing, hiking, mountain biking,
and is surrounded by some of the world's natural wonders like the Grand Canyon,
the red-rocks of Sedona, and the Painted Desert.

As
you head in any direction from
Flagstaff, the rest of Northern Arizona
folds itself into desert regions.
This is the home of the famed Saguaro
Cactus and Roadrunner, as well as
thousands of other species of flora and
fauna. |

| Camp
Colton is proud to make our home in such a
diverse region that provides our students with
views of ecosystems that they can't get in
almost any other region of the world. We are
lucky to be situated in an area that can help us
teach strong values in outdoor and environmental
education. |
